Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund

4.4m € awarded – Medtech project

In December 2019, sixteen Irish projects were awarded €65m from the State-backed Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund, two of which were EDV clients. Latch Medical, a part of the Pharma Latch consortium, was supported throughout its application development by Eur Digital Village and won €4.4m in funding for their disruptive microneedle drug delivery platform.

Additionally, Ashleigh Environmental, a long time Eur Digital Village client, achieved 1.8m € funding for their sustainable bio-renewable energy system which runs on agricultural waste, a breakthrough in the fight to reduce global emissions.

The 2020 DTIF call (Call 3) will be launched on 23rd September next. The latest information on this call can be found here

Two MedTech clients were awarded funding in September 2019 through Phase 1 of the SME instrument, with a first time success achieved by Everywhere Medical. €50,000 was awarded to each company.

EDV also assisted on numerous applications which went on to achieve seals of excellence, a recognition of the companies’ success in a highly competitive evaluation process and a certification of high quality and business potential. These endorsements grant projects more credibility and visibility towards potential investors. Clients proceed to further funding applications with a well written and comprehensive funding application from these efforts.

Cascade funding opportunities arise all the time but usually have a short turn-around time. Eur Digital Village has been successful with various clients, particularly in the Agritech sector.

Typically these funds range between 5000 € to 500,000 € per partner. As they are not advertised through the usual means, they are another example of why engaging a consultant to follow these opportunities can be worthwhile for your business.

We employed Eur Digital Village in 2017 to support a significant grant opportunity and we were thoroughly delighted with the outcome. The team is organised, efficient, extremely competent, and they provided excellent expertise throughout the process. Without such project management and writing know-how, the application would never have been completed to such a high standard. We look forward to engaging Eur Digital Village in future projects.
